All scouts and families are encourage to attend the Sunday 10:30 AM service at Christ Lutheran church where they will honor Pack 88 and Troop 1. Attire is full scout uniform. The scout master will present a slide show and there will be a reception afterwards in the church narthex.
Please arrive at 10:15 AM so we can meet and process in as a group.
In addition, “Candlemas” is being celebrated so bring your favorite lamp, lantern or flashlight for a blessing from the Pastor.
Scout family attendance
According to BSA, Scout Sunday is a special observance designated by the Boy Scouts of America, typically celebrated on the Sunday before February 8, which is Scouting Anniversary Day. It recognizes the contributions of Scouts and emphasizes their commitment to faith and community service.
So for those of us not of the Lutheran denomination, the service still makes sense to attend because the values of faith in something greater than ourselves combine with helping the community transcend any specific denomination.
